Oblique Pattern
One of Four, Pivot

[ Oblique pattern ]

Usage: oblique pattern target
Usage: oblique pattern (when already in battle, this ability will automatically target your opponent if no target is supplied)

The oblique pattern skill is a formation created with the arms. This formation is achieved by crossing both arms together, inlaying wrists with the palms facing outward. This creates an oblique pattern.

From the oblique pattern comes a mystical energy force, controlled by the user's speed and willpower. The oblique pattern cannot be counterattacked and is purely spiritual damage.

When used, an oblique pattern prevents use of other intermediate mystical patterns. The recovery time before performing another intermediate mystical pattern is determined by the user's constitution.

[ One of four, pivot ]

Usage: one of four, pivot target
Usage: one of four, pivot (while already engaged in battle, will automatically target opponent if target is not specified)

One of four, pivot is an intermediate skill of the adroit combat group. Adroit combat skills focus on well thought out, dexterous attacks. As such, adroit combat skills primarily focus on the user's dexterity to determine both ability to hit and ability to damage.

One of four, pivot, attempts to use a cornering tactic in which the user moves to one of the four corners of the opponent and strikes from a diagonal region there. This strike is done with a body pivot, not a body move. This pivot requires a great deal of dexterity and agility as many times the user will be facing away from the opponent just before laying in the attack. As such, the damage done from one of four, pivot is based both on the user's dexterity and the user's agility.

The recovery time incurred by one of four, pivot is based on the user's constitution.
