Ishtl's Thrashing
[ Insanity ]
Usage: insanity target
Insanity is the true measure of a barbarian. This skill requires massive
exertion on the part of the barbarian to work up the fever, and drains more
endurance from the user with each attempted attack. In addition to the huge
cost in endurance, the barbarian can do little else but ride out the fever of
insanity. While the cost may seem great indeed, and dangerous, the sight of an
insane barbarian will send even the most seasoned warrior into flight.
The benefits of insanity are three fold. Much like berserk, the barbarians most
powerful skill's most noticeable effect is the increase in damage it brings.
The stronger the barbarian, the more damaging his blows will be. Another
effect, for the older, more experienced barbarian, is an increase in his
ability to land attacks while insane. The greater the power of his mind, and
the more experience he has, the more the barbarian will be able to control his
body while in the throws of insanity. Finally, the power behind an attack from
a barbarian under the effects of insanity make it impossible to parry the
blows.
When working himself into the fever of insanity, the barbarian's fortitude is
compared to that of his target. The stauncher the target, the harder it is for
the insanity to affect him. Some say this is because the barbarian actually
makes his target somewhat insane when he attempts to enter the fever, and the
more robust the target the harder it is to affect him.
[ Instrumentation of medicine ]
Usage: instrumentation of medicine
The instrumentation of medicine is the art of using medicines to a greater
potential. With instrumentation of medicine one can restore health to a higher
percentage of total health and can restore health more quickly.
This skill's effeciency is based on the user's intellect and wisdom. The
duration an individual can stay competent at instrumentation of medicine before
recuperating is based on the user's constitution.
[ Instrumentation of riposte ]
Usage: instrumentation of riposte
Riposte is the art of attacking immediately after successfully parrying an
attack. Using this form of defense in battle is extremely challenging and can
only be performed by someone of master swordsmanship with the utmost
concentration.
The instrumentation of riposte allows one to focus on making riposte happen in
battle. Keep in mind that ripostes can only follow immediately after a parried
attack. Yet the ripostes themselves have been known to be quite damaging to an
opponent as the counterattack is rarely expected.
The successfulness of riposte is based on the user's wisdom and dexterity. The
period of time one can maintain the instrumentation of riposte is based on the
user's constitution.
[ Ishtl's thrashing ]
Usage: ishtls thrashing target
Ishtl's thrashing is an intermediate combat initiative skill. Combat initiative
skills focus on aspects of battle that can only be performed at the beginning
of combat. Therefore, Ishtl's thrashing can only be performed to initiate
battle.
Ishtl's thrashing uses the fury of the attacker to lay in a quick burst attack.
Drawn from Ishtl, himself, perhaps the greatest barbarian ever to live, this
skill has a curious power. Due to the barbarian disgust for weakness, when
this skill is used on an opponent who is not fully healed, the damage done is
massively magnified as the attacker's rage is heightened by the notice of
weakness in the opponent. When used on an opponent who is fully healed, the
damage is much less severe.
The damage done by Ishtl's thrashing is based entirely on the user's strength.
Ishtl's thrashing prevention period is based on the user's constitution.
